How many dog training sessions will I need?
How many training sessions you'll need will depend on the complexity of the issue. Once you have enquired and we've had a discussion about your situation, we will be able to recommend the amount and frequency of the sessions. Simpler training requirements can often be resolved after a couple of sessions.
Can you guarantee my dogs training issues can be fixed?
Dogs are complex beings with their own personalities, likes and dislikes and it's not a simple case of being able to re-programme the dog. For that reason, you should be cautious of anyone who guarantees an overnight or quick fix, especially for more complex cases. Successful outcome will be dependant on our assessment and your active participation in working on the training goals for your dog, following our training plan and guidance. Research has shown that with complex cases, 80% of behavioural issues are due to underlying health conditions that are directly impacting your dog's behaviour. In certain cases, we may refer you to a specialist or request that you have a veterinarian check over your dog to rule out any underlying health factors that may be contributing to your dogs behaviour.
Dog training is a process that requires consistency. It is highly dependent on your dog’s pace, and will require practise outside of training sessions.

Does online training work?
Online training can be very effective and sometimes essential for dogs suffering with people reactivity. Clients with dogs that are reactive to people in the home can find online sessions less stressful, with less interruptions so that the session can be carried out more efficiently. Our online puppy training package is also effective for those looking for advice before their puppy has had their full vaccinations.
What is the difference between 121 training and walk & train?
121 training focuses on working with you directly to help with your training goals, where you will have active participation in the training session and will receive a training plan tailored towards your needs. Walk & train and the trained for you package involves the trainer working with your dog, whilst taking them for a walk from your home, this option involves the trainer giving you regular updates during the outings and giving you feedback and tips on how you can continue working towards your training goals.
What training methods do you use?
We use modern, fear free training techniques that are science backed, providing positive long term results that focus on your dog's wellbeing. We want to provide you with the skills that allow you to show your dog what is expected of them in a way that motivates them to perform desirable behaviours because it makes them feel good, instead of unfairly punishing them for undesirable behaviours, often leaving them feeling fearful and confused because they haven't been taught what to do. Kindness, compassion and understanding encourages a stronger bond with your dog based on trust.
What types of dogs are suitable for group walks?
Generally, I accept well socialised dogs that are comfortable around other dogs. Before your dog is accepted onto a group walk, I will conduct a meet & greet to assess the suitability of your dog. I may recommend that you book in 1-2 solo walks initially so that I can make an appropriate assessment.
How many dogs are in the group walks?
Our group walks currently consist of 4 dogs per group max, this way I'm able to focus on the individual needs of each dog more effectively.
Do you walk reactive dogs?
Coming from a training background, I have lots of experience walking reactive dogs. I can walk your reactive dog on a solo walk, however this will depend on the severity of the reactivity and if it can be managed appropriately during the walk. A meet & greet is required so that I can assess the severity and suitability.
Can I book multiple home visits a day?
Yes, as long as we can accommodate it into our schedule, you can book multiple home visits.
What's included during a home visit?
Pet feeding, cleaning and refilling water bowls, small animal husbandry, company for your pet to break up the day, toilet break for puppy/dog, bringing in the post, taking bins in and out etc. We can tailor the home visits for your particular needs, so provide us with as much information as possible when enquiring so that we can see how we can accommodate you.
